The European Information Center Europe Direct – Silesia began its operation in January 2013. Aim of the Center is to provide residents of the region with free access to information, stimulate discussions on topics related to the European Union, provide answers to questions about the EU institutions, its legislation, policies and possibilities for co-financing from EU fund projects.

As part of the Center, debates are organized with the participation of Members of the European Parliament, as well as various types of training, workshops and competitions for children and youth on the subject of the European Union.

The institution running the European Information Center Europe Direct – Silesia is the Upper Silesian Agency for Entrepreneurship and Development Ltd., which was selected by the European Commission to receive subsidies for running the Center.
